GIS – Section is a module of Rolta BMS Section. It is a custom-built lightweight and responsive embedded GIS Engine to meet the needs of Section Commanders in the combat echelons at the forward edge of the battlefield.

- Quick and effective database archival and retrieval (Overlay name, Entity name etc) for mounted mode
- Database Query of Tactical and Terrain features based on spatial, tactical attributes & date/time for mounted mode
- Tool to display relevant terrain attributes pertaining to a feature using appropriate commands for mounted mode
- Capability of terrain visualization and navigation
- Tools for Measurement of area & perimeter (in metric system) mounted only
